After it downloads

Open the downloaded disk image, then drag the Atlas icon onto the Applications folder beside it.

Double click Atlas in your Applications folder. A short welcome appears the first time. Its last button opens Atlas's dropdown for you.

Choose Open Atlas at the bottom of the dropdown to see the full window. From then on Atlas sits in the menu bar at the top of your screen, shown as the laurel wreath icon. Click the laurel wreath icon whenever you want it back.
Notarized by Apple, so it opens normally. macOS may ask you to confirm the first time you open it.
Atlas runs on macOS. There is no Windows or iPhone version yet.
